Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule my newborn session?

By scheduling earlier (beginning of third trimester), it will ensure time in my schedule. I do a limited amount of newborn sessions each month in order to focus and be able to plan and customize each session a little differently. A date is scheduled approximately 10 days after baby's due date. When baby arrives we can adjust the date if needed. Ideally I like to photograph newborns around 7-14 days old.

My baby is already two weeks old, can I still get newborn photos?

Of course! Within the first two weeks babies are usually more sleepy and easier to relax into certain poses. Older babies you can just expect more swaddled and semi-wrapped poses and awake shots, which are just as adorable!

How soon will I get my photos?

You will receive a link to your online downloadable gallery within 1-2 weeks after your session.

What if my home is too dark or small for you to work in?

No worries! I'm pretty good at finding the light. And if all else fails, I bring my studio lights with me! I don't need a large amount of space, roughly a 5'x7' area will do. I've occasionally had to move furniture around a little, but I can work in tight spaces! :)

Do you have props and bows and everything or do I need to bring my own?

I bring everything we need with me to your home to create beautiful newborn portraits. We usually have time to discuss colors and props and what you are looking for before then, and I'll plan and bring your set-ups accordingly. If you already have items or props that you'd like to use that may have sentimental value or not, let me know beforehand and I will make sure to incorporate them into your planned set-ups!
